The many years I've been doing this, I have yet to dive into planted tanks... Now anything Reef-oriented... I've got you covered! HAHA :thumb:

I am sure someone will be able to come along & give you advice about your plants in question. . .

A proper reacclimation would take many days of slowly raising the water level and taking breaks in between giving the plant time to adapt to new conditions.

Most plants sold in the trade are grown emersed. It'll die back, melt, but not all the way. Remove dead and dying parts keep the green healthy ones, it'll bounce back.

Already getting new submerged growth (i think) after snipping off the tips of any stem. The ammonia is slowly dropping and i really need to get my fish in there. They're currently in a 2 cup container that is integrated into the 15 gallon's water supply but they are cramped. I'm guessing it's still too early to add them. Image

I would say so. Any ammonia can be harmful to the the fish. Even low amounts can leave the fish stressed & vulnerable to diseases, in turn shortening their life span. Now, the definition of Lethal comes down to what the temperature & pH is at. The lower the Temp & pH, the more ammonia can be tolerated. Either way, it isn't recommended.

Guess I'll be waiting a week or two longer

Being the tank is planted, I am not positive if things are different than. . . In my experience, Ammonia should be untraceable in the system. Let's see what some other may say.

It's just a stage with using aquasoil. Just getting impatient here! Haha. The hygrophila pinnatifida is already growing new leaves. No melting yet, strangely.

The hardest thing to do in this hobby is also the most important thing to do: have patience. I can empathize with you. I've been going through the same thing myself as I wait for a tank scaped with ADA Aquasoil to cycle. Took much longer than I had hoped, but it's finally finished cycling and I can begin stocking it now. Trust me, you don't want to rush these things. I've lost fish in the past because I was impatient. Hang in there! The finish line is in sight.

Here's a little video I did a while back on the subject of patience. It was directed at people new to the hobby of fishkeeping, but it's still a good message for anyone. I have to remind myself sometimes to be patient.

Great video with a twist. And I have entirely learned "patience" the hard way. On a side note, ammonia is dipping to .25 ppm, hygrophila pinnatifida is adapting nicely, and everything is growing!

Added 3 boraras borapetensis and 1 amano shrimp today. The rasboras look incredibly happy having more room to school & swim. I am in the market for a new LED and would appreciate suggestions. Hygrophila pinnatifida is growing well too! Image

I use the Finnex FugeRay Planted+ on my Nano Tanks and they are super amazing, slim and pump out a lot of light! I would totally recommend these, also very affordable!

Thanks for that input. I talked with my dad who works for a lighting company and he will be able to connect me with a 12 inch LED fixture through work for $34.

This is the same product with a different price https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B009R4R9 ... AGi5%2BJgL

For Kelvin, you want either 6500K, 6700k or 10000K (or a mixture is generally the best). 5000K is a bit more on the Yellow spectrum, which is ok, but for things to really take off, go higher!
