UGH! Bubbles Everywhere!

Postby SteveJor (56) » Mon Feb 18, 2013 2:40 pm

I never had a problem with bubbles going back into the tank with my cascade 1500 until I added an inline heater.
Now I can't get rid of the massive amount of micro bubbles. I am thinking there is air somehow getting in the line from where the heater was connected but no matter what I do, I cannot get it out.
My tank is a white bubbly mess!
Any ideas on what to do to correct this?

You might check all of your fittings something else may have come loose while you where installing the heater. Also you can aply a very thin coat of silicone to the fittings on the heater befor slidding the lines on this will insure an air tight fit. But you will have to allow everything to completely dry before use.

What a PITA.
Finally got the seal (I hope).
Way too much trouble just to not have a heater sitting in the tanks if you ask me.

Personally I'd rather have an inline. Everything comes with a small bit of work and maintenance involved, that's something I got used to over the decades in this hobby. Just like a car... but with better longevity.

I attempt Creative Aquascaping to hide some of the equipment as well, though sometimes it's a necessary evil. No more bubbles is a good thing, MicroBubbles can be dangerous to your inhabitants.
