Hygro roots need to be buried ?

I asked this before in part of a previous post but didn't receive any responses on this particular part of the post , so I'll try again . Does Willow Hygro need to be rooted into the substrate ? Due to the hardscape of the tank , I have one corner section where I have the Hygro wedged on top of the gravel , its roots just touching the top of the gravel . For me to actually plant it would require moving a large part of the aquascape which I don't want to do because of time and , well it looks pretty darn good and I don't want to mess it up . So do the roots have to be buried ? Thanks , MD .

Yes and no. It all depends what you are wanting to achive. Hygro will grow fine floating but for more lush growth, I suggest planting it. Hopefully that answers both questions.

Almost all stems can be grown floating but will do better planted.
