I agree with this. Otherwise your fish will be exposed to dangerous levels of ammonia and nitrite all the time. There's no way for any filter to dilute or detoxify the fish's wastes quickly enough in this small a volume of water.

Yeah as I've been looking at it, it feels like there is too much. I think I'll be taking some home.

Yeah I've started doing them. It's safest for the fish and I'd like to see it here long-term.

Wow, that is super deep substrate!

Might need something in there to turn that over of if you can, keep a chopstick handy and constantly poke the substrate, as you'll get some serious build up in there buddy!

Yes, daily water changes or at least every 2 days (30-40%) should be a must. I suggest, since it's at your place of employment, do it before you start.

Turkey baster works good for cleaning in the substrate if you don't do full water changes.

I can actually do a water change whenever I want. We're so far ahead with our work that it doesn't really matter what we do when. I play ping-pong about twice a day now cause we are so caught up. Oh the good life.

*Coming soon, beginning pictures of the hardware and first ideas for my 29G (not for the office, ha)*

Just remember, the day will come when it will be all work. Set up a "pre-work" routine now.
