I have some in my 29gal Alek and you're right, it is a beauty.

My 29gal has about 1.5 to 2 wpg over it, I do not have CO2 and I do not use any ferts. I have Eco-Completeā„¢ as a substrate in this tank. It grows slowly, but it's healthy.

If you look it up on the net, it says it needs medium to high light and will grow approx. 7 - 11" high and 2 - 5" wide.

Hope this helps.

Thanks J.B. I saw some in http://www.freshwateraquariumplants.com and it says that. I just wanted to see if anyone has any experience with it! Do you think that $5.96 is a reasonable price for it??

Thanks,
~Alek

I'd say that is a fair price. Are they selling clippings, or is it in one of the little containers with the rockwool?

I doesn't really say. So I am guessing that it is the whole plant itself. I read the shipping information and it says that they send one plant per package and write where it belongs in tank and the species name.

Has anyone ever ordered from these guys before?

Thanks,
~Alek :D

Alek, I've grown hundreds from Seeds. All you need is a clear spot where Sunlight hits, one of those "Walmart" planter (has 40 planter cups in it), Lobelia cardinalis seeds and some patience.

It takes a little longer but I can walk you through raising these from seed and you'll have more than enough.

That would be awesome Gary. Where can I get the seeds? I would love to be able to grow these guys. Does it need Natural Sunlight or Artificial Sunlight?

I have some in a very similar environment as J.B. but mine is also shaded by some branches, moss, and floating plants. It's growing just fine but has lost most of its purple coloring. I got mine at a petsmart in a pot for $4.95.

Check your local Gardening/Nursey Store. If they don't have them, many places that deal with seeds online should have them.
