My 48" 2 X 65W PC fixture ballast, decided to call it quits after 3 solid years of operation. I was wondering about a replacement ballast. I keep hearing things about the Fulham Workhorse series of ballasts and wondering if I can drive my 2 X 65W Power Compact lamps with one of these?

Gary that depends on the pin arrangement. The Workhorse 5 ballast can be used to work with 2X55W or 2X65W if the pins are four in a line. If your lamps have two rows of two pins then you'll have to use the Workhorse 7 ballast. BTW, the Workhorse line slightly overdrive 55W. The Workhorse 7 is what I usually use...I've yet to have one fail. I have overdriven with a Workhorse 5 and killed it. Personally I think that these are the best, for the money, ballasts on the market.

You can get a compatibility chart and complete wiring diagrams from the Fulham website;

FYI = Straight line of for pins is what they label as OS, the two set of two or Square Pins is labeled at PA

I run Square ( :: ) Pin in all my Power Compact configurations. I guess its a Workhorse 7 then. Thanks for the tip Steve, appriciate it.
