I need to find replacement lampholders for a perfecto strip light T12-flor
Tried to get them at lowes, but they are too short. Any Ideas how to reach some one who carries the right size?
I want to have this come on/off with a timer--what do I buy to make a change? You have to hold in the switch currently to get it to light up.

All Glass Aquarium (changing name to Aqueon) makes hoods that have a simple switch and I've had one hood or another from them hooked up to a timer for at least 2 years. Any pet or fish store should have them or be able to get them.

I called perfecto. I'm mailing my strip light to them, their replacing the lampholders and the old style push button for less than I can buy the parts. Thanks for your help.

Sometimes its cheaper to get those "shoplights" and modify them with Plant Friendly bulbs for your tank. I've seen a lot of people do this instead.

Your regular run of the mill shop light fixtures you find at the Hardware Store. Just place in the appropriate plant friendly bulbs and you are in business. Most though, need to be suspended from the ceiling.

Something like this.

Sorry, won't work :( . This is a Martha Stewart thing! No way that can go in my den- besides after stripping the ceiling of the popcorn texture (1 week) and re texturing (3 days) my hubby would kill me if I tried to hang something from the ceiling. also, this room has no attic, no way to reinforce the hardware from above.
The strip will have to work for now. Next upgrade it to a glass cover and a double strip light. thanks, for the suggestion--it's frustrating to try and decide with no info.

YOu can always purchase the shop light and place them up on blocks to move them off the tank for a bit. Its rather Ghetto but it does the job.
