Aquarium Salt —All natural salt, made from evaporated sea water, promotes healthy gill function, reduces stress and loss of electrolytes. Used to improve the efficiency of medications and reduce the harmful effects of nitrite. Purpose and Benefits: Doc Wellfish's Aquarium Salt is made from evaporated sea water. This all-natural salt is intended for use in freshwater aquariums to add natural electrolytes, improve gill function, and reduce fish stress. Freshwater fish actively maintain a natural balance of electrolytes in their body fluids. Electrolytes such as potassium, sodium, chloride, calcium, and magnesium are removed from the water by chloride cells located on the gills. These electrolytes are essential for the uptake of oxygen, and the release of carbon dioxide. The lack of electrolytes can cause serious health problems for fish. During periods of disease and stress, healthy gill function is disturbed. This can lead to loss of electrolytes and osmotic shock. Osmotic shock reduces the ability of the gills to take up oxygen and release carbon dioxide and ammonia. Aquarium Salt reduces the risk of osmotic shock by replenishing natural electrolytes fish need. Aquarium Salt can also be used to reduce the toxicity of nitrite to freshwater fish. Nitrite (NO2-) enters the gills and prevents the blood from carrying oxygen, resulting in nitrite toxicity (methemoglobinemia). Aquarium salt will temporarily block the toxic effects of nitrite until water quality can be improved. Aquarium Salt contains no artificial additives, sugar and, unlike table salt, no artificial color. It is made from evaporated sea water, which contains the following beneficial electrolytes needed by freshwater fish: calcium chloride, magnesium chloride, magnesium sulfate, potassium chloride, and sodium chloride. Directions for Use: Once added to the aquarium, salt does not evaporate and is not filtered out! After making the initial treatment with Aquarium Salt, add more salt only when making a water change. If, for example, you remove five gallons with a water change add only enough salt for five gallons. Add one rounded tablespoonful for every 5 U.S. gallons (19 L) of aquarium water. To treat goldfish bowls add ? teaspoonful for each U. S. gallon (3.78 L). Aquarium Salt may be used as a short-term bath to treat external parasites (Tricodina, Ichthyobodo, or Epistylis). Dissolve 2 ? cups (370 g) for every 10 U.S. gallons (40 L) of aquarium water. Carefully place the infested fish in the container for 5 to 10 minutes, and then put the treated fish back into the aquarium. The bath may be repeated in 24 hours if necessary. Compatibility: Aquarium Salt can be used with tropical fish, goldfish and koi. Aquarium Salt will not change pH. Aquarium Salt should not be used as a substitute for marine aquarium salt.

Super Ick Cure Capsules — An effective treatment for Ich, a highly contagious disease, also called white spot disease. Quickly kills the ich parasite, usually within 24 hours. For freshwater aquarium use only. Purpose and Benefits: Super Ick Cure is a medication for the treatment of freshwater ich (Ichthyophthirius) and other external parasites including Trichodina, Chilodonella, and Oodinium (velvet). Clinical symptoms for ich include visible white spots on fins, body, and eyes, scratching against objects in the aquarium and flashing or rubbing on the aquarium gravel. Velvet appears as a fine yellow dust on the fish. Most external parasites are too small to be seen without a microscope. With the exception of ich and velvet, often the only symptoms are labored breathing and lethargy. Positive identification can only be made after a detailed microscopic examination of the fish's gills, skin, and fins. These symptoms can be caused by a variety of factors including poor water quality, fighting, rough handling and over-crowding in addition to actual disease pathogens. Be sure to maintain proper water quality and a suitable aquatic environment for your fish. Super Ick Cure is also available in a liquid form. Directions for Use: For best results remove activated carbon and continue aeration. Add the contents of one capsule for every 5 U.S. gallons (19L) of aquarium water. Repeat dose after 48 hours. Wait another 48 hours, then change 25% of the water and add new activated carbon. Treatment may be repeated if necessary. Raising the water temperature to 82ºF (28ºC) speeds up the life cycle of the parasite and may hasten the treatment process. For tropical fish use only. Do not use on fish intended for human consumption. Compatibility: Super Ick Cure contains malachite green and will cause a blue color in the aquarium. Some silicone sealers used to manufacture aquariums and porous ornaments may be stained by malachite green. Super Ick Cure may stain hands, clothing and carpet. Aquari-Sol — Preventative treatment and cure for mild Ick and protozoan parasites. Ideal for Freshwater aquariums. Effective treatment for "closed fins"; "body fungus"; "velvet" and "sluggishness". Is a highly effective net-dip. Does not harm fish. There is no tolerance buildup against Aquari Sol by fish. Aquari-Sol is proclaimed by fish hobbyists world-wide as the most effective preventative treatment against Ick. Ick (Ichthyophtoirius Mulfifilis) are small ciliate protozoan cysts that look like sugar or salt granules. As these cysts mature, they fall off the fish and then divide into thousands of trophonts (like spores) that can populate your tank and attach all the other fish in your tank. Aquari Sol can be used to cure outbreaks of Ick (though Quick Cure is recommended). Once cured, Aquari Sol is an excellent preventative treatment that won't harm fish or aquarium plants. Use Aquari Sol weekly and whenever new fish are added to your aquarium. *NOTE* Aquarisol contains copper and should not be used with invertebrates.

Aquatronics Freshwater

Wide Spectrum Tonic — The world's finest freshwater disease prevention tonic. Regular, weekly use of this tonic will combat: Ich, Velvet, Fungus and other infections which attack fish at early stages. A must for aquarium management. Used as directed, copper and salt levels will not harm delicate species. Almost colorless in use. Use 1 teaspoon per 5 NET gallons.

It is a powerful antifungus aid. It is your best insurance policy for disease prevention when introducing new fish. Acriflavin colors the water with an electric greenish tint which some people find attractive. The color will gradually fade, especially with the aid of water changes and carbon filtration. Always use as a follow-up after severe Velvet, Ich, Fungus, and Tail Rot. Use 1 teaspoon to each 5 NET gallons.

Super Fungus Plus — When antibiotics are not yet indicated this is the proper treatment for Fungal infections. The active sulfa components in this formula are 3 times the strength of competing products plus Sulfamerazine has been added. It is a blend of Formaldehyde, Copper and Nickel Sulfate (no Malachite Green). It is all fish safe and will not affect the biological filter bed. This product can be used in marine aquariums. Use 1 drop per gallon.

Black Spot Control — Black Spot is a relatively rare disease, but it is our policy to provide the widest coverage of fish disease remedies available from research. It is of little comfort to a hobbyist whose fish have the Black Spot to be told that the disease is too rare to warrant an available medication. This medicated bath is the Black Spot remedy. Use 1 teaspoon per gallon of bath water. Can be used at 1/2 strength for two minutes on marine fish.

Flukes Control — Specific treatment for Monogenetic Trematodes (Flukes) such as Gyrodactylus and Cleidodiscus. Formalite III — This is another variation of FORMALITE which is copper free and only has Malachite and Formaldehyde. It also attacks the same protozoans as Formalite I and Formalite II. Do not use on Malachite sensitive fish such as Silver Dollars, Clown Loaches, scaleless fish and most silver scaled fish. For these fish use Formalite II. Use 1 drop per gallon.

Tetracycline — One of the oldest but effective treatments for Body Fungus, Fin and Tail Rot and Columnaris, Ulcers and open sores, frayed fins and tail, inflamed gills, red patches, Live bearer Disease, Dropsy. Will color water yellow-orange, but coloration will gradually fade, especially with water changes and carbon filtration. Use 1 capsule to each 10 NET gallons. As with other antibiotics, use every other day for 5 days (3 treatments are recommended).

Cuprex — Standard Copper treatment for Oodinium. Chelated to ensure active shelf life. In a marine tank make certain that pH of water is above 8 by using a reliable test kit, such as the ACCUTRON TEST KIT. Old Copper can come out of solution months later, so make partial water changes or use COP-A-WAY a few days after treatment to render it harmless. Copper ion concentrations of .15 to .18 PPM are recommended. If you want Copper, this is the best formula available.

Cuprex II — This product is the same as CUPREX, except that chelation is increased so that copper will stay in solution for 5 to 7 days, which prevents copper crashes. Copper test kits will still register copper levels accurately.

Seachem

Cupramine™— Effectively eradicates ectoparasite of both freshwater and marine fish. It has all the advantages of copper sulfate and chelated copper, but not the disadvantages. Like copper sulfate, it is fully ionic and effective at low concentrations. The cupric (Cu+2) charge is fully active. Like chelates, it is safe for fish and it is not precipitated in the filter bed. Unlike both, there is more than a 4x concentration gap between the minimal therapeutic dose and the toxic dose. Unlike copper salts, it is stable in the aquarium, and, unlike chelates, it is easily removed by chemical filtration. Unlike other copper products, it is both highly effective and safe in freshwater as well as marine water. It does not damage the filter bed. Cupramine™ contains 10,000 mg/L of copper and 100 mL treats over 500 gallons. Do not use in conjuction withParaGuard™. Test for copper with our MultTest: Copper™ kit. Marine or freshwater use. DIRECTIONS: Remove all invertebrates. Turn off UV sterilizer; remove chemical filtration. Use 1 mL (top mark of enclosed dispenser) per 10 gallons the first day, wait 48 hours, then repeat for a total dose of 0.5 ppm. Leave at this concentration for 14 days. Do not redose without testing. Do not use in conjunction with any other medication. In recently set-up tanks with large quantities of coral rock, some copper may fall out of solution. If tank has ever been treated with an ionic copper, test copper level after initial dosing. In freshwater, use half dose. Although most fish tolerate Cupramine™ to 0.8 ppm, it is not advisable to exceed 0.6 ppm copper. Remove with carbon or CupriSorb™.
