I know, shocker huh? ;)

Well I'm half way through the process now. My son's 28 gallon goldfish tank has been successfully moved out of his room to install the carpet and then moved back. My daughter's 20 gallon Endler's/Kuhlis tank has been easily moved out of her room and the carpet has been installed. Time to move it back into her room tonight. It weighs so much less than my son's tank & stand. All I had to do was drain out half the water and put the stand on sliders. Like a breeze it was out of the room in no time.

The last to go is my 20 gallon aquarium. I'm still hoping I can talk my wife into letting get a small holding tank for the fish so I can totally breakdown and redo my 20 gallon. We'll see...we'll see.

The great fish tank migration continues this week as I temporarily relocate "The 20 Gallon Adventure" (aka - my own tank) to the living room while new carpet is installed in our family room. My son's tank was successfully returned to his bedroom after the new carpet was installed there. Moving it back was significantly much easier than moving it out of his room, partly due to the much tighter weave on the new carpeting allowing the furniture sliders to work their magic more efficiently. As a side note, my son just had a birthday and to him to our LFS to get a new goldfish. He picked out a cute little Red Cap Oranda. (Photos in the next post.)

Now it's time for my aquarium to be moved...and the entertainment center...and the piano. My back hurts just thinking about it.

To Rescape or Not to Rescape? That is the question...

Yeah, moving tanks is not fun, but much easier from room to room, than half way across the country. Though I used a vehicle for that. :D

What's the plans for the 20? Has the decision been made?

In case anyone is wondering, this is what Gary is talking about...

Still tallying all the votes on this from everyone on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and email. So far "Total Make-Over" and "Something In-Betwen" are neck and neck. I'll give it another week or two before I close the voting. Everyone here is encouraged to vote as well.

I never had to move a tank that far. The farthest for me was when my wife and I moved from our rental home in San Francisco over to the house we bought (our current home) on the other side of the bay. That was difficult enough. I can't imagine moving tanks and fish across country.

Sometimes, a reset is in order. You have to tear down the tank anyway, why not start fresh? My vote was for Rescape. :D

Duly noted. Marking you down for "Total Make-Over".
