You're in Europe, aren't you Maria? I'm afraid I'm not that familiar with the resources available to you in Cyprus...

Please post some updated water parameters when you get a chance. Ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate levels, especially.

Moving water from your old tank should not have hurt anything, as long as that tank was healthy.

one question: when is it better to test for these things: after or before my weekly water changes? cause I'm about to do a water change again tomorrow

Before, since the goal is to see how the chemicals are accumulating.

I have NO idea what it is, so I put her in the emergency tank. Her behavior is ok, she run right up to me when she saw me, like usual, she eats, although now in the smaller tank she isnt vrery active (I think shes just scared from the move)
Th other fish in the tank are ok...

ok bad news:
ammonia 0,5 mg/l
nitrites 0,0 mg/l

I guess the cycle isnt done yet? which is making me very angry at this moment, cause it is taking waaaay more than what I was told.
Anyway... what do I do for poor perry?
and I also have sera's nitrivec and waterlife bacterlife.
They are good bacteria. should I use one of those?

btw since I'm hear I might as well go ahead and ask
pls lemme know if I should start a new topic about this :)

Some time ago (before I found this forum), a weird white spot appeared on one of my gouramis's fins. I asked on yahoo answers, and they said it's probably nothing, although I should keep an eye on it. So I have, the spot is still there but its not growing at all (nor shrinking anyway)
Image
Its not fussy, but it seems to be "textured" differently than the rest of the fin. I hope you understand what I mean by that

Boy my gourami sure is terrified of the camera!!

In regards to the gourami, from what I can see in the picture it looks like the "spot" is an area of the fish's fins that have grown in a different color from the rest of its fins- is this correct?

And I think the best thing you can do for all your other fish is to keep up with water changes. It could be that when you treated the tank, the good N-bacteria were killed, and so now the tank is going through another cycle. I'd start doing some daily 50% water changes, and then check your water parameters again in a few days. If either the ammonia or nitrites read over 0.25ppm, then you'll need to start changing more water than that- perhaps 50% 2x a day (though I suspect the once daily will be enough.)

That spot on your platy looks like a cyst. I'd probably just keep an eye on it while you deal with your water parameter issues, and if it does start getting any worse, you might try some salt dips.

yeah. any idea what that can be?

Ok Ill start daily water changes for a week.

Should I put the platy back in the main tank?

It's not all that unusual for fish to change colors slightly. Especially if an area was ever damaged and then grew back, which is very common with pectoral fins. This is one I wouldn't worry about.

I think I'd leave the Platy in the QT tank, just in case the problem could be something contagious.

Hopefully once you can get your water quality issues under control, your fish will improve in overall health and you won't keep experiencing this chain reaction of health problems. Healthy water gives fish a fighting chance so that their immune systems can fight off minor problems all on their own. Unhealthy water stresses their immune systems, so they're more susceptible to any issue that might come along.

besides the mark on her head... check out her mouth! What is that thing!?
also, she seems to not be so much interested in food...
her poop is normal, no stringy or anything. She swims about (not as actively as before, but not a lame as parker before he died)

OK, let's start from the top with this one:

The fish has been in QT now for just a few days, and you moved it in there when you saw the first spot.

What tankmates are also in the QT tank, and what are the water paramters in the tank as well?

right
shes the only fish in that tank
its 20 liters, but I filled only halfway
she has a heater (22c) and afilter. I dont give her any medicine since I dont know whats wrong yet, only some fishtamins.
I change half the water daily
ammonia and nitrites both at 05 mg/l just before the water change (i used water from the main tank)

she swam right up to methis morning when she saw me, which gives me hope that maybe this one will make it
