Lyretail Swords

Postby Photoman (153) » Wed Feb 15, 2017 12:02 pm

Hi I have a triplet of Lyretail Swordfish, 2 female and a male. I have had them around a year. The females look pregnant but doesn't drop. I read that Lyretail's can be sterile. Is that true? If so what is the gravid spot look like pregnancy?

often the males sexual organ is too long and not functional and that causes them not to be able to breed correctly.

They may be in fact sterile, though it's very rare to find such fish. Add more Females to the mix to see what happens.
