How to Post Pictures
Written by J.B.

So, you're new here, or have been around a while and want to share some pics of your prized tanks? Every now an again, I run across someone asking how to post pics in the forums here, so I put this little "How To" together to hopefully help our members get some pics of those beautiful tanks posted.

There are two different ways to get your photos posted within the forums. First, you can use the "Upload attachment" feature located in the tabs below. By using this method, you are able to upload photos directly from your PC to the TFH server and they will show up in your post as a clickable thumbnail pic. The other method is to host your pictures on one of the many different picture hosting sites available on the net. I personally have a photobucket account and that is what I used for this "How To".

Photobucket accounts are totally free, all you need to do is register...

Once you have your account created, you'll need to create albums to organize your photos into. After you've created an album, you click on the "Choose Files" button to begin uploading files from your computer.

Image

A new window should open and you can navigate to wherever you store photos on your PC. Select a photo, or multiple photos by holding the Ctrl key while selecting and then click on the Open button

Image

After you click on the Open button, your file(s) will begin uploading. Depending on the size, number of files and your connection speed, this could take a little bit of time. Mileage will vary...

Image

Once your files upload, your screen will refresh and you will be presented with the opportunity to name and describe your photo. This step is not mandatory and can be skipped if you so choose by clicking on the "return to albums" button. Or, you can name and describe the files first and then click on "return to albums".

Voilá, there is your photo(s)...

Image

k, so now we've got the photo(s) hosted, and need to post it on the forum. Mouse over the picture you want to post and a small window will appear that has several fields in it: Email & I'm; Direct Link; HTML Code and IMG Code. Click in the one labeled IMG Code and copy that link path by pressing Ctrl C or right clicking and selecting Copy. Some browsers may automatically copy the link.

** New Image options are available, please read the thread; viewtopic.php?f=11&t=30372

Image

Next, create the post you want to put the photo in or click on Reply. When dialogue box opens, paste the link. You can do that by pressing Ctrl V or right clicking and selecting Paste.

Image

After you have pasted the link, click the Preview button so you can verify your link is working. Or, you can be like me and just click on Submit...I'm crazy like that. Tada, there's the photo. The forum will automatically resize your photo, so size (resolution) is of no concern.

Image

I hope this was helpful, if not let me know and I'll see if I can edit it to make it more useful. Can't wait to see those pics. :thumb:
