The suction cups I have in my tanks to hold down the air hose lines are just terrible. They don't work most of the time.
Anyone have a good suggestion for the small suction cups?

Re: I need a decent suction cup
I have heard that older suction cups can be rejuvenated by heating them, either dipping in boiling water or microwaving. I have not tried this.
Alternative to suction cups look into holders, a loop, with magnets. They are special magnets that maintain their hold even through thick glass.

Hmm, magnets. Now that's an idea! I'll have to check that out.
You know what's bad Diana? These cups have never been very good at staying stuck even when they were brand new.

Re: I need a decent suction cup
I have had good ones and bad. Now they are all bad, but I am not using them for anything.
One use: Holding up the spray bar. Substitute: Twist tie that is covered in plastic. Long enough to hook over the back of the tank. Does not rust, because of the plastic covering.
Another use: Holding up thermometers. Substitute: More twist ties.
Another use: Holding down the air line and bubbler for the DIY CO2. Substitute: Rubber band a pebble to the tubing.
Anyway, there are coated magnets specially made for aquariums. They come in a package with several adapters that will fit almost anything that used to use suction cups.
I have also heard of DIY folks ordering some neodymium (spelling?) magnets and some of that plastic dip sold for re-coating the handles of tools. Standard magnets are not strong enough to work through the thickness of the glass.
