Alrighty, I've got an update on the clams. I went back to the store to get some more calms and this time they were labeled as cherry stone clams. I went ahead and got three more of them and got two others of what they were now calling little neck clams. Well I got them home adjusting, and immediately stated doing some research. I found out that cherry stone clams and little neck clams are the exact same species, and the only difference between them is the size (little necks are smaller than cherry stones). I also found out that they are filter feeders that also absorb ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates, and are supposed to really help keep chemical loads to a minimum. Hopefully this will indeed be the case. If so, these little guys could turn out to be quite useful. :dontknow:

PS: I also added another CC star fish. This one is quite larger than the others.

hehe, that's a very good possibility. Today I bought an oyster to try in the tank as well as some muscles they were selling. I already have a couple of muscles that came on some liverock, so I'm not too worried about them, but if anyone has any experience with oysters... I'm opem to suggestions! :D

Wow, big update! Since the introduction of the clams into my display tank, my nitrate levels have dropped .5 ppm. :waahooo: I did however loose the muscles I added, but the clam and oyster seem to be doing well. Luckily I was able to get the muscles out before they did any damage. :relieved:

Do you have any pictures of this setup? I'm rather curious as to what it looks like.

That's totally cool my friend. And you bought these at the Grocery store. If I had a tank large enough, those Lobsters would make an interesting topic of discussion, right before dinner. ;)

That's totally neat.
