Fluval C Series Filters

Postby twotone12valve (319) » Fri Dec 07, 2012 3:31 pm

What are some thoughts on the Fluval C series filters? I have been doing some research on the new Fluval c-series filter and it seems to be a very good filter. I was thinking I could use one on my 20 gallon long for my Apisto Biotype/breeding tank project.

Any thoughts?
Any using one?

I've only used the Aquaclear HOB filters. (Now, don't get me started with the Fluval canisters --the best!)

So I finally have my C series filter up and running on my newly set up 20 long, it was deffenitly worth the extra money over the aqua clear filter. Every section comes apart with ease, and the sections can be removed individualy from each other allowing the bio filtration to remain in place. O and it actually has a drip system like you would see on any large refugium. It also has a controlable flow rate that works! I'm very happy with the filter. I bought the C-2 witch is a 20-30 gal filter with a flow rate of 119GPH.

I've been thinking of purchasing one of these. How's it worked for you? Would you still recommend it?

Deffenitly, the filter is amazingly quiet, even when the water is super low it is not very laud. The filtering capability of it is simply unmatched by any HOB I've used and it is very easy to clean. Each section of the filter can be cleaned separate from one another without disturbing any of the other sections. I definitely will buy one again.

May I suggest Rena? While they are a bit lower on the output side, they are easier to maintain and keep running. Fluval and I have a long history of hate between us. I first ran only Fluvals for the longest time, but was always annoyed at restarting, cleaning and reassembling after said maintenance.

Rena makes life easier.
