Pleco suggestions

So we have a problem. We have lost our bristlenose pleco today due to something else bullying it. I am assuming it is the kribensis. Besides that, we need a new one. It is a 55g tank. I am looking for a pleco that is not going to outgrow the tank, not stop eating algae when it reaches maturity, and is a little more on the aggressive side so it doesnt get beat up by the kribs. What do you think would best fit these requirements!

How many Kribs in the tank, and do they all have their own caves? Do you have some spawning?

You might try an adult male bristlenose and make sure he's got is own cave, but if you've got some overprotective Krib parents, pretty much any other fish in their territory may be at risk...

There are two kribs in the tank, a male and a female. They do seem protective of a cave in the tank but i dont think they are spawning. Ill find another cave for the new pleco. And the old bristlenose was a female so maybe it will in fact make a difference if i get a male instead.

Problem is the Kribs not the Pleco. They are rabidly protective parents, which is good and bad for other fish in the tank. This is why you should never put in Corydoras with Kribs, they will get murdered.

As for your Pleco, the only thing that fits the bill is Bristlenose, as suggested, try finding a larger one and make an area for him/her on the other side of the tank.
