New german blue ram spawning questions!?

Okay so i had my female german blue ram die soon after catching ich. I have completely gotten rid of it amd bought a new female just tonight. She is really fat and actually looks likes she is getting close to spawning. (Ovipositer looks like its starting to show) With her are 3 male german blue rams and some other randoms. My boys seem mighty interested in her. If she spawns in the next few days will one of the males fertilize her eggs even if they arent an established pair by that time?

I think i just answered my own question!!! My female knows what she wants in a man! Shes picked a partner and hes picked her, and shes become totally comfortable with her new surroundings all in the matter of 1 1/2-2 hours of being in the tank! I'm impressed!! Where ever the male is shes not too far behind! its really cute actually!! So like i said shes quite large and it looks like her ovipositor is starting to show. Now that shes for sure got a worthy man in her life when do you think i should expect spawning?

There's really no way to know, they may court for a few days and then get down to business, or they may forego an extended courtship and prepare a spawning site.

Same behavior today! They, for the most part, stay pretty close and the male chases away all of the other males as if to tell them back off shes mine!

Just realize the first few spawns they will eat, and not tend to well, but they will get the hang of it. Sounds like you have a pair! Congrats!

WOO! I'm really excited!! I have been reading a ton about breeding them and i do realize that they might fail the first few tries. I'm just happy to get to experience such an event!! My best freind has guppies and they breed like crazy and I've always wanted to give it a go with some sort of fish. I'm so excited!

With all the water changes (keep them up), increased heat, you've set the mood.
