How to calculate gallons?
I tried calculating the gallons for my fish tank but I am not sure if it is correct? I take my dimensions 60cmx36cmx30cm and got 64800cm3. I divided it by 1000 to get 64.8 liters. Then I used the converter below and got about 17 gallons. Huh? I have never heard of a 17 gallon tank. Please help me!

Re: How to calculate gallons?
60cmx36cmx30cm = 64,800 cc = 64.8 liters.
14 Imperial gallons
17 American gallons
The companies will call their tanks anything they want, it may have little to do with the actual capacity.
Are your measurements on the inside (where the water is?) or to the outside of the glass?

I measure from the outside. Is that wrong?

Re: How to calculate gallons?
If you measure to the outside, then subtract the thickness of the glass.
You want to measure water, measure where the water is.
