lead weights
are the lead weights for plants safe for inverts?
I saw a green sea turtle in Maui, Hawaii. It was the coolest of my life.Though its illegal, I came very close to one. But it was the turtle that approached me. Unfortunately, they're in danger. Why don't we all conserve?

Re: lead weights
i think they are but not positive,no reason to use them anyway.they will pinch the stems and make them rot.

What plants do you want to use them on?

Re: lead weights
I'm with Lou on this ---lead just pinches them too much. Best just keep poking them down into the substrate.

Re: lead weights
I usually take them off and discard them. Over time that lead will break down (especially for those of us with low acidic waters) and can cause some harmful things to happen. Also yes, they choke the stems of the plants and rendering them well, useless.

I keep Cherries, Sukura, Rainbow and Amano in a pH of 6.5 and they seem fine, Proper molting, and with everyone minus the Amanos -- breeding.
Lead can cause problems later on down the road, just avoid it entirely.
