Long-time Hobbyist from California

Postby AmazonResaerchCenter (1) » Fri Feb 03, 2017 7:23 pm

Hi all. I am a long-time aquarist from Southern California. I have been in the hobby for 50 years.

My fish interests are varied. I have 30 aquaria up and running with the largest being a 400 gallon corner tank that is a Rio Nanay (Peru) biotype filled with Red-spotted Green Rio Nanay discus and many other fish I collected myself during my work in Iquitos, Peru. The hobby led me to a pH.D. in fish ecology. I am a college professor doing research now on the impacts of exotic species in the Amazon.

I am also trying to build a research center outside of Iquitos, Peru. I have a crowd funding campaign on-going on GoFundMe. Please share with all your friends. Have you ever thought about giving back to the aquarium hobby that we all love? Now is your chance. We are accepting donations to help us breed and conserve the fish we all love. All donations are tax deductible as we are a 501(c)3 charity. Money goes directly to the research center in Peru. There is ZERO overhead here in the USA. All persons on the Board of Directors here in the USA are volunteers.

Thank you.

Have you ever spent time around the Rio Tapajos? If so i would love to pepper you with questions about the biotope where L260's are collected, plants and fish from the rapids areas?

Welcome Anthony. I'm glad you've joined us; I'm sure you will bring a lot to the "table." Although I find you gofundme project very interesting, we can not solicit funds on this site. If you would like to connect with the magazines in this capacity, I'm sure we can link you up. Welcome again!
