Greetings from Illinois

Postby Photoman (165) » Tue Jan 27, 2015 12:16 pm

Hi Everyone. just a shout out to introduce myself. I live in the Chicago Suburbs. I have a 29 gal guppy community tank up for 3 years. I just set up a 37 gal. I kept fish when I was young. Left the hobby for quit a while. My brother has tanks and always look at them when by his house. My wife had tanks when she was young. She always wanted to have an aquarium. So after 30 years we set one up. I forgot how it feels to to keep fish. The ups and downs when fish die. I feel bad when that happens. I can not believe all the new filters. When young under gravel filters and a stone where the top. Now the new tank has a canister filter. How cool. Can't wait to share ideas and knowledge with everyone. Jeff :D

Welcome Jeff! Glad you are here! I got back to the hobby awhile ago (whenever it says I joined on the left.) This place helped me a lot to catch up with the various changes. We have a lot of fun here. Look forward to hearing more from you.

Hi I am still trying to navigate this site. What tropical fish stores to you go to? I go to Natural Pet and Fish in oak Park. Also Aquariums Adventure in Bowlingbrook. Also big box pet shops only when need supplies. Do you go to the GCCA show in Hillside Il.? Good show. I bought my 37 gal tank and supplies from the vendor. Looking foreword to interesting discussions. Jeff

I go to Aquatic Adventures in Hoffman estates but mostly use the GCCA classifieds. I have tot been to a GCCA show in Hillside. they used to have it in Arlington heights and I went often.
